PEARL
RIVER DELTA
Just a step from Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta is the perfect place
to start exploring some of China's most famous and exciting cities.
The Pearl River, in China's sub-tropical south, connects three of the
Far East's most exciting destinations - Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong
province (formerly Canton). If you've only a limited time to visit China,
make the most of your time and explore the Pearl River Delta.
While each area has its own international airport, day trips from Hong
Kong are the best way to enjoy your time in the Pearl River area.
Guangdong province offers a glimpse of the China of yesterday, and today.
This region includes one of China's most vibrant cities, Guangzhou, and
the rural landscapes of Shenzhen lie only 45 minutes from Hong Kong by
bus. Take a tour through the Pearl River on a "Splendid China", "China
Folk Culture Villages" or "Window of the World" tour from Hong Kong. These
flexible tours can also take a detour to Shekou or break for a few extra
days in historical Guangzhou.
Hong Kong International Airport can connect you directly to Guangdong
province. Click
